Bombay Chanakya has embarked on a project of great spiritual significance – a series based on the life and teachings of Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi. The significance of this project extends far beyond mere entertainment. Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi is revered as one of the greatest spiritual teachers of modern times, whose message of self-enquiry and inner realization has touched countless lives across the globe. Chanakya’s decision to create a series about the Maharshi is rooted in a deep understanding of the transformative power of his teachings. By bringing the life of Bhagavan to the screen, Chanakya hopes to offer not only a biographical account but also a spiritual experience that will resonate with viewers on a profound level. The series promises to capture the essence of Bhagavan’s journey, from his early life and spiritual awakening to his establishment of Sri Ramanasramam, where seekers from all over the world still gather in search of truth.
The production of the series reached an important milestone on March 6, 2024, when Bombay Chanakya and his team, made a special visit to Sri Ramanasramam in Tiruvannamalai. As a gesture of reverence and devotion, the team placed the script for the series at Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi’s Samadhi, seeking his divine blessings for the success of the project. This was more than a symbolic act — it is a recognition of the sacred nature of the project and the spiritual responsibility it carries. In the presence of Dr.Venkat Ramanan, the President of Sri Ramanasramam, a simple yet heartfelt puja was performed to consecrate the undertaking. Dr.Ramanan, acknowledging the importance of this series, offered his full support, recognizing the potential it has to inspire and guide spiritual seekers around the world.
Beginning 24 Nov 2024, this i26 episode series, which honours the centenary of Sri Ramanasramam, will be presented on Bombay Chanakya’s YouTube Channel FASTFLIX, as well as broadcast on Sankara TV, a channel widely respected for its focus on spiritual and religious content. The series is designed to bring forth the timeless wisdom of Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi, making it accessible to a broad and diverse audience. This programme is not only a celebration of the ashram’s centenary but also a means to preserve and disseminate Bhagavan's teachings to future generations. Sri Ramana Maharshi Heritage Foundation has co-financed the project, ensuring that the production maintains high standards of quality, both in terms of its narrative depth and its visual presentation. Plans are already in place to dub the series into multiple languages, further extending its reach to global audiences. This multilingual approach underscores the universal appeal of Bhagavan's teachings, which transcend linguistic and cultural barriers.
